Mikhail Petrenko sings his first Met Figaro, with Anita, Rachel and Isabel
Mikhail Petrenko makes a return to the Metropolitan Opera this month, to sing the title in Mozart’s ‘Le nozze di Figaro’. Although it is a role he has sung successfully on many occasions, this will be his first Met Figaro. A regular at the house, Mikhail has plans to appear there for other productions early next season.
He is accompanied by a recent signing, Anita Hartig, as Susanna; a role for which she received great acclaim in recent performances at the Royal Opera House. Rachel Willis-Sørensen and Isabel Leonard both return to sing the roles of Countess Almaviva and Cherubino respectively.
Conducted by Fabio Luisi and directed by Olivier Award-winning director Sir Richard Eyre, this classy 2014 production opens on 25 February 2016 with further performances are on 29 February and 3, 7, 12, 16, 19, 22, 26 March.
