Rachel Willis-Sørensen makes last minute debut in Grafenegg
Rachel Willis-Sørensen will make a last minute debut as Hanna Glawari in a concert performance of ‘The Merry Widow’ at the Grafenegg Festival, a role she last performed at the Dresden Semperoper.
The performance takes place on Saturday 13 August 2016, as part of Grafenegg’s Summer Concert series. More information here.
Looking ahead, Rachel’s 2016/17 season includes concerts of Beethoven Symphony No.9 with the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood conducted by Andris Nelsons (28 August), the Countess in ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ with the Milwaukee Symphony (alongside Joelle Harvey, 17 – 20 September), her role debut as Leonora in ‘Fidelio’ in concert performances with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano (alongside Simon O’Neill, 20 – 24 October), a return to Covent Garden for the Marschallin in ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ (alongside Sophie Bevan and Matthew Rose, 22 December – 24 January 2017) and Eva in ‘Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg’ (11 – 31 March) both conducted by Pappano, Freia in ‘Das Rheingold’ in concert performances with the New York Philharmonic (1 – 6 June) and Elsa in ‘Lohengrin’ at Opernhaus Zürich conducted by Fabio Luisi (alongside Gyula Rab, 4 – 16 July).
