A new Rosenkavalier for The Royal Opera

Sophie Bevan sings her first Royal Opera Sophie in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, opening at The Royal Opera House this week. Sophie is joined by Matthew Rose as Baron Ochs and Renée Fleming as Marschallin in Robert Carsen’s new production, conducted by Andris Nelsons. 
 
Rachel Willis-Sørensen sings the role of Marschallin on 22 December 2016, 17 and 24 January 2017, and then returns to Covent Garden as Eva in performances of Die Miestersinger von Nürnberg in March.
Performances run from 17 December 2016 – 24 January 2017. See The Royal Opera House website for more information and tickets. The performance on Saturday 14 January 2017 will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 at 5.45pm GMT.
