Fall in New York

This Fall, Ms. Willis-Sørensen returns to New York to perform the role of Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera. Her performance at the Royal Opera House in 2023 was praised by Operawire, claiming that the role provided “a perfect vehicle for her to display her impressive and substantial vocal talents. Full-bodied in the upper register, beautifully rich and resonant in the lower. She also has the wonderful ability to resort to expressive pianissimos. She paints beautiful phrases with the trills and ornaments of her coloratura.” On this occasion, Ms. Willis-Sørensen shares the stage with Jamie Barton as Azucena, Michael Fabiano as Manrico, Ryan Speedo Green as Ferrando and Igor Golovatenko as Count di Luna. Daniele Callegari conducts.

Performances take place on October 26th and 29th; November 2nd, 7th, 11th and 14th. Tickets and more information can be found here

Also in New York, Ms. Willis-Sørensen returns to Carnegie Hall for the “2024 Richard Tucker Gala” on 27th October at the Stern Auditorium Perelman Stage. She is joined by opera stars and award winners Xabier Anduaga, Jamie Barton, Stephanie Blythe, J’Nai Bridges, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Stephen Costello, Michael Fabiano, Ryan Speedo Green, Quinn Kelsey, Nadine Sierra as well as pianists Bryan Wagorn and Howard Watkins.
