Leonora in Il Trovatore in Vienna and London

Having just come from her debut at Teatro San Carlo as Elisabetta in Verdi’s Don Carlo, Ms. Willis-Sørensen jumps in to sing Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Wiener Staatsoper on February 5th. Her performance of the role at the Metropolitan Opera in October 2024 was praised by Operawire who stated “she delivered an incredible performance…And Willis-Sørensen saved her softest and most impactful singing for her final “Prima che d’altri vivere,” her voice floating gloriously, the high A flat allowed to soar into a beautiful portamento an octave down for ‘io volli tua morir’”. She shares the stage with Vittorio Grigolo as Manrico, Artur Rucinski as Il Conte de Luna, and Clémentine Margaine as Azucena. Pier Giorgio Morandi conducts.

The performance will take place on February 5th. Tickets and more information can be found here.

Ms. Willis-Sørensen then returns to Il Trovatore at the Royal Ballet & Opera at the end of February and March. Under the baton of Giacomo Sagripanti, Ms. Willis-Sørensen performs alongside Michael Fabiano as Manrico (who also joined her in New York), Aleksei Isaev as Il Conte di Luna, and Agnieszka Rehlis as Azucena.

Performances are set for February 26th, March 3rd, 6th, 10th, 13th, 16th, and 22nd. Tickets and more information can be found here.
