In May, Rachel Willis-Sørensen continues her performances as Leonora in Verdi’s Il trovatore at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, appearing on May 3, 6, and 9, a signature role in her repertoire.

Later in the month, Willis-Sørensen returns to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center with the Dallas Symphony Chorus and Orchestra for Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 on May 15 and 17. This marks her first performance of Mahler’s monumental Eighth Symphony, and her return to the hall where she previously appeared in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in 2021.

The performance will also be made available to wider audiences through a video broadcast on medici.tv, expected to air during the week of June 15th, and a radio broadcast on WRR 101.1 FM scheduled for June 22 at 8 p.m. CST.
On May 22, she appears as Violeta, one of her signature roles, in Verdi’s La traviata, at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, alongside Saimir Pirgu and Quinn Kelsey as Alfredo and Giorgio Germont, and under the musical direction of Verdi specialist Leo McFall.
