Ms. Willis-Sørensen’s 2022/23 season has just been announced and includes exciting role debuts, and performances at the world’s leading opera houses. In September, her season begins with a return to the Bayerische Staatsoper to perform the role of Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimes which she debuted earlier in the year, this time opposite Jonas Kaufmann in the title role. She then makes her first role debut of the season, as Elisabeth in Verdi’s Don Carlos with Lyric Opera of Chicago. As with her 2021/22 season, Ms. Willis-Sørensen returns to the Wiener Staatsoper in her 2022/23, where she performs two roles. Her first engagement in Vienna includes a return to the role of Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, followed by Mimi in La Bohème. Returning to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, she then performs her second role debut of the season, the title role in Strauss’ Arabella in a new production by Tobias Kratzer. In the spring, Ms. Willis-Sørensen performs the role of Violetta in La Traviata at the Bayerische Staatsoper, followed by Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello with LA Opera, and Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Royal Opera House.
